Amazon is expanding access to its affordable Prime alternatives, Prime Lite and Prime Shopping Edition, which were initially launched as a beta for selected users. Starting July 20th, midnight, during the Prime Day Sale 2024, these memberships will be accessible across all pin codes in India.
Prime Lite, priced at ₹799/year (compared to ₹1499/year for regular Prime), offers access to Prime Video on one device (instead of five). On the other hand, Prime Shopping Edition, at ₹399/year, focuses solely on shopping benefits like same-day/next-day and free deliveries.
This move aims to make Amazon Prime benefits more accessible, starting with the Prime Day Sale, and may continue permanently thereafter.
